The African Smartphone International Film Festival (ASIFF) has closed submission for its 3rd annual edition, theme: The Future is Here

ASIFF received a total 550 films from 60 countries. The event will run from 6th – 8th December 2019 at the Magnificent Cinemas, Lagos Nigeria.

ASIFF founder and executive director Michael Osheku said the 2019 edition is a special one and it is open for the public and industry delegates to experience the future of filmmaking and the cinema, the festival has a lineup of amazing African and International short films, feature films, documentaries, animations, web series and music videos made with mobile device. And will also features; workshops, master classes, panel discussions, pitch panels, short film market, networking event and award ceremony.

Smartphone filmmaking age has come, we are celebrating smartphone filmmakers and their works. It is no longer the question of can a great film be made with smartphone? this is the time to experience the beautiful, creative and powerful art of storytelling using pocket device.

Every year we launch new generation of talents, and this year’s selection is the future of cinema and it is mind altering.”

Smartphone technologies are increasingly playing a major part in film production, distribution and reception.

At this year’s festival we are training and exploring the limitless possibilities of using a smartphone.

The festival welcome’s film financiers, distributors, exhibitors, talent managers and other film industry stakeholders to participate and discover exceptional, thought provoking and highly entertaining contents from professionals and new emerging filmmakers.
