Director Biography –  Yinusa A. Korede

Yinusa A. Korede is a young Filmmaker, Director, and Editor from Nigeria. Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Creative Arts: Theatre Art from the prestigious University of Lagos, Nigeria.

As a Filmmaker, he is constantly concerned about projecting African stories to the global audience. He uses film as a tool for capturing and documenting the experiences of Africans in African society. He considers himself as a storyteller who prides in local stories, the impacts such stories have on the audience, and most importantly how such stories travel to a global audience.

In 2019, he was among the few selected filmmakers funded to produce a TV series at the end of the African International Film Festival workshop held in Lagos, Nigeria. In 2021 he was part of the 6 selected filmmakers at EbonyLife Creative Academy, Lagos, Nigeria, to direct one of the produced short films titled Ifeloju. Later in 2021, his film Flesh and Spirit won the overall best film at the Tecno Camon 18 Premier Short Film Awards.

Yinusa A. Korede has been privileged to direct a couple of short films such as The Sheep (2020), Country Boy (2020), Water Palava (2021), The Thanksgiving (2021), Ifeloju (2021), Flesh and Spirit (2021) and others.
