Director Biography – Indianna Thompson

Indianna is 13 year old actor, dancer, singer and now aspiring director. She grew up taking dance and singing classes in Sydney and continues to foster her love of Tap and Ballet. This love of the performing arts saw Indi perform in a variety of amateur and pro-am musicals such as Annie, Aladdin and Cats, to name a few.

In 2019, Indianna was cast in Billy Elliot the Musical as Tracy Atkinson, the fun loving Ballet Girl. This production performed at the Lyric Theatre in Sydney and then went on to tour in Adelaide and Melbourne before Covid shut its doors on March 15th, 2020. One of the highlights of being part of this cast was performing for and meeting Sir Elton John.

Indianna’s experiences of performance has lead her to developing a deep love of drama and character creation. She is exploring this interest through such programs as ATYP, Screenwise and TAFTA where she takes regular acting lessons. Indianna is excited to have made her directorial debut through the assistance of Angela Blake, who has inspired her to develop her skills as a storyteller and creator. She is also working through a one year mentorship with AAFTA.

She is currently a student at Newtown High School of the Performing Arts where she is majoring in Drama. She also successfully gained entry into NHSPA’s Film Company in 2021 and 2022.
