In 2004 Daniel designed a new filmmaking course for TAFE Queensland, and transferred to Open Channel (Melbourne) where he was head of Training between 2007 and 2016. Here, Daniel initiated a range of innovative filmmaker development initiatives including Scriptshop, Screen-Australia funded ScriptStart, NITV&#8217;s Our Stories New Aboriginal Voices series, the Film Victoria Attachments program, and produced two Generation Next emerging sector conferences attended by more than 1000 filmmakers, with guest speaker&#8217;s including Hollywood Producer Jason Blum (Blumhouse). Daniel conceived and was Associate Producer on the 6-part Anzac centenary commemorative documentary series for ABC iView Bringing our Stories Home in 2016. In 2013, Daniel was awarded a prestigious research fellowship through the International Specialised Skills Institute studying microbudget production schemes in the UK and Europe. In 2017, Daniel founded Cinespace Inc., a non-profit organisation in Melbourne fostering new culturally diverse screen voices, producing a series of new short films and running writer development programs, as well as launching a series of community-based smartphone storytelling workshops.
