This film is inspired by the events that our parents or elders used to do when we were young in the rural areas. \u201cChosi Chosi ngantsomi\u201d which translates Once up on a time, is a gone are those days type of visual storytelling which captures the day-to-day lives of women in Eastern Cape. Back in the days we knew that it was story time when we head the magic words \u201cChosi Chosi ngantsomi\u201d, this film expresses African identity and how Xhosa people frames identity through the cultural lens.<br>In this film we will track a journey of a young woman walking in the field wearing her Xhosa traditional attire, as we are following her, her journey will take us to the sublime day-to-day chores or experiences of Xhosa women as she introduces the story like a fairy-tale. The film will be narrated through a voice over with a Xhosa poem.<br>We will capture the cultural elements such as traditional food, the inspirational nature (river, mountain, and landscapes) our elders in their traditional attire. This film will be visualised with traditional props such as Isithebe our beautiful wooden tray used for slinging a number of cargo in one set, Ukhukho, a traditional mat, etc so as to embrace the beauty of our home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"552\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/africansmartphonefilmfest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Minizobuhle-Mmango.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2761\" style=\"width:187px;height:271px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/africansmartphonefilmfest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Minizobuhle-Mmango.jpeg 552w, https:\/\/africansmartphonefilmfest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Minizobuhle-Mmango-207x300.jpeg 207w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 552px) 100vw, 552px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Director Biography &#8211; Minizobuhle Mmango<\/strong><br><br>Minizobuhle Mmango is a young aspiring filmmaker from Johannesburg and is passionate about telling compelling, authentic, and socially relevant stories that resonates with the ordinary society on a deeper level. She graduated from City Varsity School of Media and Creative Arts in Film and Television Production Techniques where she majored in producing, directing, and writing. Inkondlo a short film which she produced and co-wrote won Film of the Year at the City Varsity Student Film Festival. It was also an official selection at the Cape Town International Film Festival and Official Selection at Gauteng Film Commission Online Women Film Festival.<br>At present Minnie is currently in development with two of her short films, (horror and family drama) and in post-production with her recent short visual film. She has worked as a Production intern at Passion Seed Communications, Necessary Concepts, Stained Glass, and Bioscope Films.
