This minimalist body performance and audiovisual work of art by VELVE satirizes the preferential treatment of the cold white character, against the background of the growing migration movement to the former colonial powers.
VELVE is a singer, composer and producer of electronic pop music from Berlin who only recently started making video art and already received ten internatinal nominations last year.
She shot the musicvideo with an iphone 7 as a selfie on a tripod. The flickering light comes from a defect construction light hung next to the tripod. The makeup is silver cream on skin and hair plus halloween contact lenses, all improvised by VELVE with little or no means. The watery effect comes from an app she uses called Filto.
