Director Biography – Robert Mossi Alexander
Hailing from East Oakland, California, Dr. Robert Alexander forged a path to success through resilience and determination. Despite the challenges, his upbringing instilled in him a relentless work ethic and a steadfast belief in the power of education. Today, as a symbol of triumph over circumstances, he is a testament to the transformative impact of persistence, education, and an indomitable spirit in the face of adversity.
Dr. Robert Alexander, holds his advanced degrees in International and Multicultural Education from the University of San Francisco, grounding his counseling and instructional approach in a solid academic foundation. He has dedicated his career to the belief that education is a powerful tool for personal and societal change.
Known for his innovative teaching methods, Dr. Robert Alexander, engages students through interactive and experiential learning, recognizing the diverse backgrounds and learning styles present in his classrooms. He strives to create a supportive atmosphere where every student feels heard and valued, fostering an environment that promotes intellectual curiosity and critical thinking.
Beyond the classroom, Dr. Robert Alexander, is actively involved in the 100 Black Men of the Bay Area and Mount Tamalpais College at San Quentin State Prison, extending his impact beyond college counseling and instruction. He understands the unique needs of formerly incarcerated folks and knows that many may have experienced trauma, lack of education, and/or limited job skills. Recognizing these challenges allows for targeted interventions, such as trauma-informed care and educational programs, to address their specific needs.
