Director Biography – Wacira Gatheru
Wacira Gatheru is an experienced Writer Director Editor and Creative Consultant with a demonstrated history of working with the fashion and advertising industries. Skilled in Creative Problem-Solving, Short Films, and Photography for motion pictures. Proficient in Photo-shop CC, After Effects CC, Premiere CC. He has written award-winning short films, such as “The Strange Visitor” which was nominated for best special effects at the 9th Kalasha Awards, and “Mwikali” which won 2nd place at Machakos Film Festival.
As an Editor, Andrew has worked on projects such as Dreamchild, K.E.R.U, FIHI, Discovery +254, and many TV shows and feature-length movies in Kenya and East Africa. His latest short film “The Girl Inside” is making its rounds in Film Festivals around the world and was selected for this year’s First-Time Filmmaker Sessions @ Pinewood Studios. Andrew has worked for well-known Production houses in the country from Sounds & Pictures, Film Crew In Africa, Zamaradi, and many more. With his creative flare, Andrew has directed a number of music videos that have garnered quite the reviews and numbers on YouTube for Veryl Mkali Wao.
