Festival returns December 18–21, 2025 – Celebrating innovation, AI, and the evolution of cinema through smartphones
Lagos, Nigeria — 1, December 2025 – The African Smartphone International Film Festival (ASIFF), the pioneering global platform dedicated to mobile and AI-powered filmmaking, proudly announces its 9th annual edition to be held virtually from December 18–21, 2025.
This year’s theme — “The Future of Film is Already in Your Hands” — spotlights the transformative role of smartphones and artificial intelligence in opening new doors for creatives worldwide. ASIFF 2025 will feature film screenings, panel discussions, masterclasses, global networking opportunities, award sessions, and dedicated sessions highlighting AI-driven creative workflows.
Founded to empower emerging storytellers and democratize filmmaking access, ASIFF continues to give a global stage to voices often underrepresented in traditional cinema systems, especially creators across Africa and within the diasporic creative community.
